1. Roadmap to Reopening:

• Governor Hogan has described the reopening process through 3 Stages.

  • We are in Stage 2.
• Our guesstimated reopening day is July 12th.

  • This is NOT set in stone. It is just an estimation based on the trends we've been seeing during the reopening process.
  • We're not saying this is the day that we'll reopen. We're saying that we're going to plan like it's the day.

2.  General Updates:

• Over 5,000 people are joining us online weekly!
• As mentioned a few weeks ago, Stacie Siers has transitioned into the role of Growth Track Director!
• Growth Track will be available on Sunday mornings (during two service time frames) in the fall.
• Pamela Cahill has joined our staff as Guest Services Director!

 
3. Small Group Updates:

• Groups are still meeting online and in person!
• Talk with your group about if you would like to keep meeting weekly during the summer.
  • If so, small group leaders have been equipped with curriculum suggestions and resources.
• The Green Room has been paused for the summer
  • It will pick back up in the fall.
• If you don't continue to meet weekly, try to get together several times a month to stay connected with each other.
• We just launched a ladies small group that will be meeting through the summer. Go to our OAK Ridge SMALL GROUPS Community Facebook group for more information.

 
4. PEACE Updates:

• Last Saturday, we distributed over 100 chickens given to us by Perdue.
• We've wrapped up handing out boxed lunches at Mardela Middle and High School each week.
• We're making 320 bagged meals for Halo every Thursday.
• We're continuing our partnership with the Salvation Army as needed.
• Jim Kaylor has continued to support Stone Grove throughout the pandemic.
  • When we've had food to distribute, we've made sure to have extra boxes set aside for Stone Grove.
  • Jim has been instrumental in distributing the food to them for us.
• Our Care Callers are continuing to check on our at-risk members!
• Pray for Pastor Jeff, one of our church partners in Togo, West Africa. He has been very sick, but it doesn't appear to be from COVID-19.
• Our church partners in Macedonia are doing well!
• Pastor Timothy, our church partner from China, has finally reopened his church!

 
5. Student Ministry Updates:

• We've been doing everything we can to connect with our students online.
• Once we reopen, the Sunday morning services in the Ridge will be for Middle School students only.
• We will hold a High School student-only meeting called "Equip" in the middle of the week.
• On Sundays, High School students will be asked to attend a service in either the Live or Theatre Venue and begin serving alongside the adults.
  • We are still working out the details for these changes.

 
6. Pastor Bryan is celebrating being 9 years clean!

• God has used this experience to turn Pastor Bryan's life around.
• If you or someone you know needs help getting into treatment or starting the recovery process, reach out to Pastor Bryan.

 
7. Broadcast audience and Oak Ridge online updates:

• Each week, we're allowing a small number of people to attend the taping of our 9am service.
  • It's like sitting in a studio audience for Ellen or Ryan and Kelly, but you will still be able to worship and enjoy the Sunday message like you would on a normal Sunday.

• We held our first baptism since the shutdown this past Sunday!
  • We have another one scheduled for this Sunday too!
