Local Missions

HALO (Hope And Life Outreach)

Born out of a passion to make a real difference in the lives of the homeless population, Oak Ridge launched the Center of Hope, literally run out of a closet in the church.  Soon this ministry exploded with volunteers and extended to life changing services including feeding on the street, clothing closet, food pantry and an annual cold weather shelter during the week of Thanksgiving.

As the ministry grew, Oak Ridge decided to release the ministry into a full blown separated non-profit that would allow greater inter-agency cooperation.  Today, HALO operates a rescue mission, year round cafe, a thrift store and several life development programs including adult literacy, basic finance, and intake programs getting the homeless off the streets and into full independence.

School Partnerships

As Oak Ridge grew larger many began asking whether we might start a Christian school.  As we reflected on our mission we realized rather than retreating from the public sector, the church should be offering to partner with public schools to help our community and have an impact on these families.  We provide opportunities to serve as mentors for the students and various partnership projects.

Oak Ridge currently partners with several Wicomico County schools.

ISO (International Student Outreach)

Thanks to the outstanding academic institutions surrounding Salisbury, the Eastern Shore now hosts many international students coming from all over the world.  Oak Ridge wants to be a part of their lives by reaching out in friendship through our International Student Outreach program.  Similar to the mentor program in the public schools, volunteers meet weekly with their assigned student exposing them to the various cultural and regional experiences forming mutually beneficial friendships.
