What is CELEBRATE RECOVERY?
God is using this ministry as a resting place for
the weary (MATT 11:28). He is calling people
to use their gifts and to give away what was so
freely given to them -- recovery through Jesus
Christ. Freedom from addictions requires a
defense against sin and disease. Combining God's
Word with fellowship allows us all to start fresh.
We all have problems and hang-ups in our lives, some
more controlling than others. Addictions with
alcohol, drugs, pornography, physical abuse just to
name a few, are common throughout the world.
All of these prevent us from leading not only a
‘normal' life, but also a spiritual life. We
must first become willing to acknowledge our
addictions before we can ever expect to defeat them.
CELEBRATE RECOVERY:
- IS BASED ON GODS WORD, THE BIBLE
- IS 'FORWARD LOOKING'
- EMPHASIZES PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
- EMPHASIZES A SPIRITUAL COMMITMENT TO JESUS
CHRIST
- UTILIZES THE TRUTH THAT WE NEED EACH OTHER
IN ORDER TO GROW SPIRITUALLY AND EMOTIONALLY
- ADDRESSES ALL TYPES OF PROBLEMS AND
ADDICTIONS
- IS NOT BASED ON AGE, SEX OR RELIGIOUS
BACKGROUND
People who have overcome their own addictions and
have a loving relationship with Jesus are at the
forefront of this ministry.
The purpose of the Celebrate Recovery program is to
spend time together and celebrate God’s healing
power in our lives through the eight recovery
principles and the Christ-centered 12 steps.
This experience allows us to be changed.
We open the door by sharing our experiences,
strengths, and hopes with one another. In
addition we become willing to accept God’s grace in
solving our life problems.
By working the
12
Christ-centered steps and the
8
Recovery Principles, we begin to grow
spiritually. We become free from our
addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors.
This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most
importantly a stronger personal relationship with
God and others.
Celebrate
Recovery meets every Monday and Thursday evening 7:00pm -
9:00pm at ORBC in the main building.
